One indicator: Southwest Florida ranked first place for single-family home affordability for the first quarter of 2009, with an average home price of $87,300 and a median household income of $52,244.
While home building and commercial development have indeed slowed, there are still tremendous opportunities throughout the region, not only in terms of existing inventory, but also for developers who are in the market for available land.
