With a personal commitment from Florida’s Governor Charlie Crist, environmentally friendly policies have become one of the main priorities for the state’s leadership. Through a number of incentives and state regulatory tools, Florida is promoting the use of renewable energy sources and stimulating innovation in the clean energy field, while becoming a national model for such commitments in the process.
Southwest Florida’s population and economic growth rates mean that we are one of the largest and fastest-growing markets for clean energy products, technologies and services. Furthermore, by virtue of our geography, mild climate and strong agricultural sector, we offer other significant biomass, solar and ocean energy sources. Southwest Florida is not only the right environment for innovation, it’s the bright place at the right time for companies to shine in a competitive - and lucrative - market.
Following this commitment to environmental responsibility, individual counties within the Southwest Florida region have taken it upon themselves to move beyond the state’s already rigorous Green Building Codes in an effort to preserve our quality of place and ensure that this will continue to be a brighter place to live and do business.
